We are located at Rua Carreira do Tiro, unnumbered, in the parish of Santa Clara in Ponta Delgada. This street is located on the 2nd exit of the Santa Clara Roundabout coming from Avenida Marginal, next to the Pol-Nato Depot, close to Accybron which sells gas and is on the street parallel to Rua da Igreja. The school is the building next to Tecniq store, electricity store, close to Moniz de Sá Lda, Oficinas Seat and Pacheco & Silva.

We are open from Monday to Friday, excluding holidays, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and from 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm.

Our code lessons are from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm from Monday to Thursday. On Friday is Exam Simulation from 16:30 to 20:00. Study hours from Monday to Thursday are from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm.

Our Car / Car Driving lessons are from Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 12 pm and from 2 pm to 7 pm, excluding holidays.

Our Mechanics classes are every day, except holidays and Fridays from 19:00 to 20:00. Also on Friday is the Exam Simulation from 16:30 to 20:00. Study hours are from Monday to Thursday from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm.

Category B students can start getting a driver’s license at the age of 17.5, that is, 6 months before turning 18 and can take the code exam when they turn 18.

The student can start taking the license at the age of 24 or over.

The student can get the Heavy Goods license earlier than the Bus/ Passenger vehicles license, that is, they can start getting the license when they are 21 years of age or older.

• the Car License? A photocopy of the Citizen Card, front and back, and the Medical Certificate is required;

• the Motorcycles license, having already a car license? A photocopy of the Citizen’s Card, on both sides is required, a Photocopy of the Driver’s License on both sides and a Medical Certificate, with Category A aptitude. Medical certificate, with the ability to take Category A;

• the Heavy Goods License? A photocopy of the Citizen Card, on both sides is required, a photocopy of the Driver’s License, on both sides, a Medical Certificate and a Psychotechnical Examination, with aptitude in Category C; 

• and to get the Passenger vehicles/Bus License? A photocopy of the Citizen’s Card, on both sides is required, a photocopy of the Driver’s License on both sides, a Medical Certificate and a Psychotechnical Examination, with aptitude in Category D. To get the Passenger Vehicles License (Category D) now, you no longer need the Truck/Heavy Goods license, you only need a car license and age equal to 24 years;

1- Heavy Goods (which gives the name to the license);

2- Any Agricultural Tractor of any Gross Weight + Agricultural Trailer of any Gross Weight + Cargo Weight that goes inside the trailer (but now the authorities demand that the driver of this agricultural set do/have training, because there were many accidents with Agricultural Tractors in which the Tractor turned over and the driver was crushed under it, but it is not lack of license, which the truck license gives, which is, it is a training apart from the license, as happens with farmers who also use pesticides have to be trained);

2.1-Any heavy agricultural machine (harvesters, threshers, machines for making dry grass rolls, machines for cutting corn, grass chopping machines, olive picking machines, etc.);

3- Industrial Tractor, or, better known as Tractor for Leash, but you cannot carry the leash behind (to carry the leash behind with more than 750 kg of Gross Weight, you must have another license called C+E, that people call a leash card or you can even have 1 trailer behind but only up to 750 kg). Of course, you can only take the tractor to Inspection without the leash;

You can take the Tractor to the workshop;

You can take the Tractor to the gas station, and for other trips but without the leash at the back or you can take a leash or a trailer if it has a hook but it cannot exceed 750 kg of Gross Weight;

4- Any Heavy Industrial Machine (Forklifts, Cargo Lifts of the Autonomous Board of the Port of Ponta Delgada, Caterpillars, Floor Compacting Cylinders, Backhoe Excavators, Bulldozer, Caterpillar Tractor, etc).

For those who don’t know, car drivers must renew their driving license every 15 years, after the date the title was issued.

However, from the age of 50, the license must be renewed every 5 years. The license holder must make a Medical Certificate to renew it and present his Driving License and Citizen Card and Medical Certificate at the Ponta Delgada Road and Land Transport Services (SVTTPD).

I can start the revalidation of the license 6 months before turning 50 and cannot let more than two years go by at this age, if not, I will have to take a Practical Exam to prove my skills as a driver and get the license back.
